Lydian Nadhaswaram, the 15-year-old piano prodigy, recently had an exclusive interview with Global Child Prodigy under Prodigy Talks. The renowned Entrepreneur, Educationalist, and Humanitarian, Mr. Kavin Kumar Kandasamy, hosted the talk. He is also the Managing Director of Mangalam Educational Institutions. Mr. Kavin’s institutions serve more than 7000 students every year.

Tell Us A Little About Yourself
My name is Lydian Nadhaswaram, and I am 15-years-old. I am a musician from India. My father supports me a lot in everything I do. I feel so glad that I am making people happy through my music.
Lydian Nadhaswaram, When Did This All Start?
When I was 2-years-old, I started to play the drums. My father and my sister are also musicians, so I performed with them on a lot of stages. I started playing the Piano when I was 9-years-old. My father is a composer; he plays keyboard, flute. He also sings, and he is my teacher. Also, my sister is a better musician than me, in my opinion.
How Does Homeschooling Work For You?
I need to dedicate most of my day to music, so homeschooling provides me with the flexibility to do so. I am in ninth grade. I study whenever I get time, so that’s a good thing about being homeschooled.
What Is the Importance Of KM Conservatory In Your Life?
I was there for 2-3 years, and I joined that when I was 10. I entered the KM Music Conservatory to learn Tabla. After a few days, I got inspired by a teacher, Dr. Surojit Chatterjee. He teaches Russian piano method, so I learned under him for a while.
Conservatory plays a significant role in my journey. I got the chance to meet Mr. AR Rahman uncle. After I won The World’s Best Contest, he came to my home and played on my Piano. We went to KM Conservatory through his car. That whole day was just fantastic.
How Did You Get On The International Shows?
I would say that it’s all because of my father. He was following a producer who worked for different shows before. Then she moved to World’s Best team and then showed my videos to the team and then only they selected me. After that, I went to the Ellen Show and a few more talk shows.
How Much Of Your Life Has Changed After Winning The World’s Best?
It was a dream come true, winning the World’s Best. Whenever I go outside, people recognize me and take pictures with me. I feel so responsible after seeing all this. My life has changed a lot after winning the World’s Best.
Tell Us About The Movie For Which You Did Compose
Yes, I am composing for a film called Barroz, directed by Mr. Mohanlal uncle. This is my first debut as a music composer. When I won the World’s Best, Mr. Mohanlal uncle called me personally and congratulated me. Then the team approached us and asked me if I would like to work on the movie, Barroz. The film was related to children so my father agreed with them and currently we are working on it.
Which Country Has Been Most Receptive To Your Music?
It’s not one country that appreciates me. All the countries that I have been to appreciate me a lot after seeing my performance.
During the initial stage of my piano career, we posted some videos on my youTube. So, Mr. Augustine Paul got in touch with my father, and that’s how I joined in under him. I finished my grade eight piano exam under him.
Are You Going To Pursue Any Sort Of Educational Path in Music?
It’s entirely up to my father. If he asks me to pursue any path in music, I will go for it. But, I want to collaborate with Jacob Collier. He is an incredible musician from London, and he plays more than 15 instruments. He has won four Grammy awards.
Do You Have A Schedule?
My schedule differs every day as it depends upon which piece I am practising. For example, I am currently doing a part in Piano for which I practice it for 5-6 hours per day.
If You Were Not Doing Music, What You Would Be Doing?
If not music, I would like to listen to some motivational speeches. I hear to Mr. Sadhguru most often, and I have also met him once. Also, I love to read about space, so I would also do that.
How Do You Feel To Be A Global Child Prodigy Awardee?
It’s an honor to be among the Top 100 child prodigies of the world. I feel very privileged to be a Global Child Prodigy Awardee. Everyone in the award ceremony was excellent, and I spoke to a lot of child prodigies there.
