We caught up with Kedar Narayan to get an insight into his success story.

Tell Us A Little About Yourself & Your Family

My name is Kedar Narayan, and I am 12 years old. Since I was five years old, I have loved three things: Coding, Mathematics, and Problem Solving. After I learned all these things and mastered them, I combined them to create different apps and websites.

When I was younger, my mom used to help me with coding as she is a computer scientist. She quit her job to teach me as I was homeschooled, and now she is my brainstorm partner. My father is a biochemist, and he works from home. I have a little brother who is three years old.

How Did You Get Into These Things?

I always learned maths in a standard way since I was too young. I was homeschooled because we were living in an area where going out was not very safe. My mom told me that she would teach me from home and she brought some CDs for me. I was taught Vedic maths techniques through which you can do maths quickly in your head. We didn’t give so many exams, but we prioritized understanding what you learn and applying it. I wasn’t restricted to anything, and I was taught simply, so I loved it.

Tell Us About The Company That You Have Found?

The company is called ‘Heart For Wildlife.’ It is about selling nature-friendly products that focus on helping the environment. Also, everyone can play our fun games that educate you about nature.

Before I found the company, I created an app because there was a big problem. The insects, called pollinators, were under substantial endangerment as around 75% of them were declined. Pollinators spread pollen from flower to flower and significantly speed the flower growth. Pollinators include bees, butterflies, birds, etc. My app, ‘Pollinator For A Pet,’ was about helping them, providing them and food resources. More than a hundred people downloaded the app. After that, I did this business to expand my reach.

How Is Your Company Doing Right Now?

I have now gained a lot of clarity about my business. There are a few mentors who are guiding me and giving me advice. I would say that we are doing well and we have some great ideas.

Right now, we don’t have a lot of sales because of marketing, and we are trying to overcome it. When I was younger, I could not put everything into the business, but now I am doing that. I think that the company has a great future.

How Did You Get Into The ‘LaunchBox’ Program?

The ‘LaunchBox‘ Program is like a place where you can meet a lot of mentors. These mentors will guide you and give you advice about what to do. It is essential to have a mentor because your mentors play a huge role in your success. The program is about having your ideas, solving your customers’ problems, and then finding out what you want to do with your company. It is a helpful program.

I applied to the program by submitting my ideas to a panel of judges, and then I gave a little talk to them. It was a great experience. I have been a part of the program for around three years.

What Are Your Future Aspirations?

Short time-wise, I want to earn $10,000 for my business. My long-term goal is to have multiple income streams like my companies, stock markets, books on my courses, etc. I want to use this income to innovate more things to solve the problems of people. Also, I want to become a chess master at an international level as I love it.

What Are The Different Types of Coding Languages That You Know?

When I was young, I learned Scratch, which is an elementary language. After that, I learned Java MLM CSS, which I have forgotten. Also, I have known the Php programming language. Now, I do Python, which is my primary language. I like Python as it is so easy to understand, and it is powerful as well. Also, I am learning Java as I make a lot of apps.

Do You Think That Everybody Should Learn the Basics of Coding?

I think it is not required to learn to code, but anyone who wants to be an innovator should understand coding. Coding is not just sticking down a computer and hacking as people think of it. Coding is something that you should not learn just for its sake because you have to work with errors no matter what you are doing.

“I frequently ask myself why complicated codes get simple errors, and the simple codes get complicated errors.”

How Does It Feel To Be A Prodigy?

I think I am not necessarily one to get much attention, but I got all this because of my personality. I always like to talk to people, and my parents are always complaining to me about that. It feels great to be a prodigy, but as a prodigy, you must help people.
